A Weekend at West Elm

Our Very First Pop-Up Shop!

Oh man, what a weekend. A few weeks ago Rosewood co had a pop up shop at West Elm in Charlotte. We were there for three days with two tables available for purchase and one that was made to stay there for West Elm's Design Center.

The lead time to this weekend got a little intense due to some last minute orders I was still finishing. I left myself with barely enough time to build all of the tables before the day arrived (not the smartest move). However, in spite of the lack of sleep and over indulgence of caffeine, I arrived that Friday morning at WE with all three tables ready to go.

It felt so surreal to be unloading and setting up in the store, and as the day began and the doors were open I just left like I was in some dream. Customers would come up and chat, ask about the tables and then their eyes would light up when I told them I was the one who built them, me, this five foot two, young gal. Now, what would give me chills, was when their faces would light up all the more when I would told them that 10% of every purchase goes to a local orphanage. That is what fueled me more then any cup of coffee. 

The weekend was more then I could of hoped for. Truly. I had the opportunity to meet some amazing people, sold two tables and the staff at WE quickly became like family. I was intimidated at first to present my tables to the community next to these beautiful pieces from WE. Of course, that thought quickly had no backing support after seeing how everyone responded to the work I brought with me. 

The gratitude I have for the staff at WE Charlotte and the sweet people that came to see the tables and chat with me has been overwhelming. Putting my work in WE has been a goal of mine from the moment I started RSWDco, but as we all know that wasn't very long ago. I never thought I would be doing so much so early in this business.

I am so grateful. I have the best job. I have the best life.

Its the people in it that make it so great, this perfect job means nothing without them.
